Portland International Raceway sits within Delta Park on the north edge of the city, which makes it one of the easiest circuits in North America to reach without a car: the light rail stops a short walk away. The layout is flat and quick, defined by the Festival Curves chicane at the end of the front straight, where first-lap incidents are a tradition.
Because the circuit is in the city, the race weekend draws on Portland's ordinary hotel stock rather than a dedicated cluster.
